My painting of Harry Patch (1898-2009) who was known as the Last Fighting Tommy since he was the last living veteran of the Trenches in the First World War

  1. Thanks, Yasser. It is supposed to be of Harry Patch who was ‘famous in the UK as the last surviving soldier known to have fought in the trenches of the First World War and latterly known as ‘the Last Fighting Tommy”. I’m not so sure of any likeness, especially I seem to have painted him wearing lipstick – a bit weird as I painted him from a black and white newspaper photo!
